the new pop-up blocker definitely works better when multiple pop-ups are blocked. However, I as well as another 6000 students at my University have a web-based learning system that is used to take assessments, receive/submit assignments, and receive announcements. Announcements come in the form of pop-ups whenever we log into the system and this new pop-up blocker is almost always not seen, we miss our important announcements!
The old pop-up blocker was much more noticeable and much easier to open the pop-up when it was blocked. I get many blocked pop-ups a day and it has just become tedious to open the pop-ups with the new blocker, the old one was much quicker. It was also very unique, no pop- up blocker that I know of worked in the way chrome's pop-up blocker did. Bring it back! Proposed change to old pop-up blocker: -Use old method to block a single pop-up and new method to block multiple pop-ups -Modify old method so that a pop-up could be right clicked to present the user with a list of all blocked pop-ups -Pop-up windows could be stacked in a way that all blocked pop-ups' title bars are visible. For example, the first blocked pop-up would show up as a title bar, like before, and subsequent windows would appear underneath the first window but would extend further to the left so that the title bar could be seen. This way the user can visually see how many pop-ups are blocked and can easily open any pop- up window. Chances are that if more than 2 pop-ups are blocked they would be ads anyways and the user wouldn't want to open them. Otherwise the user could open the window(s) he/she wanted based on the time which the pop-ups were created.
