Over the past week or so the server supplying the Chromium "mini_installer.exe" for the "passed all tests" builds of Chromium (http://build.chromium.org/buildbot/continuous/LATEST/) has been cutting off the download every few Mb. I have to then restart the download each time before it finally finishes. Looking at the problem it appears the server is sending off a "download completed" type of signal before the download is actually complete. I assume this since my anti-virus program that is set to scan any download (in Firefox) once the download is complete scans the unfinished download once it's cut off by the server. My take is that if the download simply "quit" or the connection was cut off this scan would not take place, the anti-virus simply waiting for the download to finish.
Another issue I've found while experiencing this problem is that I have to use Firefox to download the mini_installer while this problem is occurring since Chromium (and Chrome for that matter) will not resume or restart a failed download. If I attempt to do so Chromium/Chrome gets stuck on "Waiting on cache" (shown in status bar) and the download never resumes or restarts. Clearing cache does not help at all, only shutting down Chromium/Chrome allows me to attempt to download the mini_installer again...which always fails the same way. Only downloading "mini_installer.exe" fails like described and it fails the same way in Chrome, Chromium, Firefox, IE 7 and Opera 10 and only in Chrome/Chromium can I not restart/resume the download. All other downloads of any software from any other source download correctly. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Chromium Discussion mailing list: [email protected] View archives, change email options, or unsubscribe: http://groups.google.com/group/chromium-discuss -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
