Actually, Chrome scans the 'Visited links' database to mark the visited
links as visited, so it scans databases anyway for every link. The list (of
links and of visited links) can be enormous, yet it scans it.So that it not
a real issue, in my opinion.
The thing is, this feature is not really that necessary. It is a "nice to
have" extension style feature, but really not a must have core feature.
