I've had an issue with my Chrome install that I'd like to report here,
rather than on crbug.com since I can't reproduce this very well, so
this 'bug report' isn't very rigorous.

After 2 months or so of use, my Google Chrome install (currently v
2.0.172.37) suddenly started taking my Google searches to google.com
instead of google.co.uk. Going to google.co.uk and doing some searches
to re-set the .co.uk preference did not help.

I followed the tip posted here (
http://www.tomergabel.com/GettingGoogleChromeToBehave.aspx
) of going to google.co.uk, doing a search, then closing Chrome and
waited for 10 seconds. This solved the problem and now new searches
started going to google.co.uk again. However, old searches still in
history ( see the red-highlighted portion in this image:
http://yfrog.com/27chromep
) continued to go to google.com, which is incorrect behaviour imho.

Clearing all history fixed this problem.

I believe it's unreasonable to jump through hoops to change which
Google site one goes to. Especially the bit about closing the browser
for a while -- most users will intuitively never get it.

Given that redirecting to a different Google site occurs to quite a
few users*, I'd like to ask for a setting to cleanly specify which
Google site searches should go to. It could be be a UI dropdown (like
the Google toolbar for IE has) or something else entirely -- even a
registry/.ini style setting.

*based on searching for [search goes to google.com not co.uk] alone.

Thanks,
Prasenjeet
