OK, here is an answer.
>If it wasn't needed, why would IE include it?
Because IE (or FireFox, or any other browser) is not Chrome, it has many
unnecessary\non user friendly options and a cluttered user interface. Chrome
tries to avoid that.

I understand your need and I agree - it would be a nice feature to have. But
I do not think it is as necessary as you present it.
I never saw anyone (non dev) uses this option. Granted, I am living in
Israel, so not everyone here uses English\roman letters rapidly and that
might be a reason for me not to see it around at all.

Also, the design is already there, I cannot see a way to make the find box
any simpler or more friendly than it is now, which is something they are
trying hard to keep. Being here long enough, I would think that Chrome
developers think that almost any addition to the user interface would
probably be considered a clutter, which is also a reason for my response. If
it is not a must, it would probably not get in.

I am not an authority here, or anything like that. I just try to help. My
opinions do not always matter (if at all) and there were times where the
Chrome developers completely contradicted my opinions - this is how it
should be.
