The version of the Dev branch does not really matter (though you do have an
old Dev version, we are at 4.0.195.x now).
The version of the Beta branch, usually is the snapshot of features to
expect from that (major) version, though features may still be incomplete
until a few days before it gets to the stable branch.

So if you want to test against the next major version, you should wait for
the next beta (about three, four months from now, approximately).
