O believe you me some of the extensions are memory hogs and slow done the
startup appreciably. I had at least 10 extensions loaded at one time. BUT
the thing I keep going back to is: Other browsers with at least the same
number, don't suffer the same bottleneck. I don't know if it's the browser
itself; or the fact that some of the extensions aren't written very well.
<shrug>

For example. XMarks with the same amount of bookmarks loaded on the same
browser/machine/OS loads much, much faster than the browser does with Google
Sync turned on. This is problematic and has to be addressed. Why should one
have to cull their bookmarks to use Google Sync?! This is on GNU/Linux,
Chromium and Chrome developer versions.
