Ah, yeah.  I had forgotten about this.  Thanks for the reminder.

Although to reverse my previous opinion (call me flip-flop), the nice
thing about having the install UI you're talking about is that it can
lead to a more consistent user experience when installing extensions
(especially those that don't have any always-visible UI).

Anyway, it's not happening in the short term, and there's an easy
workaround, so I guess moot for now.
