I've had a similar crashing problem with 4.0.211.4 on Windows XP (but stable on Win7 RC). The extensions I have installed are the sample gmail notifier and a del.icio.us extension I am developing.
Also it appears that this may be related to Issue 22461. @Finnur The version you provided a link to is stable for me on XP.
