I agree with you fellows that Churchill always tried to be a good father to
his children because of his own childhood experiences. He was so neglected as a
child which seems to have been the custom of the Victorian era. It would have
been however, very difficult to have been his child growing up in the shadow of
such a great man and father and living up to his standards and expectations. I
think this most especially was true of Randolph as the only son. It is a shame
the two of them very rarely got along together. Mary, of all the children seems
to have been the only child to have been well grounded as we can look back on
her life thus far. She is such a special person to everything Churchillian and
it is a great honor just to know her.
