The attachment mentions that one of Churchill's two hobbies was bricklaying. This was brought to my attention a few days ago when I watched "Mission to Moscow" on Turner Classic Movies. When Ambassador Joseph Davies was on his way home from Russia at the end of his tenure as ambassador, he stopped in England and visited WSC. When he arrived at Chartwell, Clemmie took him to meet Churchill, who was in his yard laying bricks, and expressed his pride in his craft before they discussed the threat posed by Nazi Germany. CES
