OK, so here's some more info. If I am logged onto the client system as UserA and connect to UserA's home share via CIFS, permissions work as expected; however, if I am logged on as UserB and then try to connect to UserA's home share it appears that I get mapped to nobody, even though as UserB I am prompted for a username and password (since UserB does not exist on the OpenSolaris system) and I enter UserA's username and password.
So, it looks like either A). I cannot masquerade as another user when connecting to a CIFS share or B). I need to manually create a mapping on the server for UserB to map to UserA.
