Please correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't your solution leave the root of 
each group share open to everyone if we want members of the group to be able to 
access and write to the root of their assigned storage?  Won't we have to set 
the share permissions to allow everyone RWX access in order to allow group 
members to write to the root?  We don't want the root contents of the group 
shares to be to be browsable by everyone.
