Hi

Thanks for your hint. Your hint was very helpful. I have seen it but always
thought that this did not apply because I could easily join with linux
(ubuntu), bsd and nexenta. A mistake as I see now:

http://wiki.genunix.org/wiki/index.php/CIFS_Service_Troubleshooting#Joining_a_Windows_2008_Domain

I had set the security level to 5 for:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\LMCompatibilityLevel

So the first solution was indicated:

1. I created the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\MSV1_0\AllowLegacySrvCall
(Type: DWORD (32-bit) Value / Value data: 1)
2. I downloaded the hotfix from
       http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957441/
which was "only" for Vista, but works obviously also for Windows Server 2008
and after a reboot...
3. ... I could join my opensolaris box to the domain.

The quest is over, thanks everyone for your help. And I definitely learned:
opensolaris <> nexenta <> bsd <> linux

Thanks to all,
Marco
