Yes, TESTDOMAIN\sichler owns the file from the Windows side, 2147483651 owns it from the OpenSolaris File Server side and ROOT owns it from the OpenSolaris Client side.
I can contribute a tidbit: the last, that the file appears owned by root when accessed by a Solaris system using CIFS, is an oddity of the Solaris CIFS client. Files viewed through the Solaris CIFS client look like they are owned by the user who established the mount, without any respect for the actual ownership of the file.
It looks like the most relevant CR is 6706181. However, that doesn't explain your problems with writing to the file. I assume that when you're mounting the file system: # mount -F smbfs "//TESTDOMAIN;u...@fileserver/scratch/" /mnt/tmp the "user" is really "sichler"? _______________________________________________ cifs-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/cifs-discuss
