Hi,

Thanks the issue is solved. As per your advice, i have renamed the file
and found that all files & folders are started listing.

r...@filerz01:/pool1/hr/hrServices# ls -l PROT\220G\220\ PERSONAL\
FILE-40431.doc
-r-xr-xr-x+ 1 charu hr 34304 Jul 21 2004 PROTG PERSONAL
FILE-40431.doc

r...@filerz01:/pool1/hr/hrServices# mv PROT\220G\220\ PERSONAL\ FILE-40431.doc
PROTG-PERSONAL-FILE-40431.doc

r...@filerz01:/pool1/hr/hrServices# ls -l PROTG-PERSONAL-FILE-40431.doc
-r-xr-xr-x+ 1 charu hr 34304 Jul 21 2004
PROTG-PERSONAL-FILE-40431.doc

Earlier this repositories are served from Netapp CIFS. Recently i moved
the repositories to Opensolaris CIFS(snv122). Its really strange, how
windows allowed to add ASCII character(220) in the filename. I am not able to
reproduce the filename along with the ASCII(220) character in windows.

Thanks,
M.Chidambaram.

Thanks.

The dtrace output shows that an error occurs after filename:
PROTG PERSONAL FILE-40431.doc

It appears that there are non-supported characters embedded in it.
The filename shown in the dtrace output is: PROTG PERSONAL FILE-40431.doc

Can you try renaming this to see if that addresses the issue?

I will investigate why such a filename would fail the request.
I would have expected it to be skipped and the listing continue.

What build of Solaris you are using.

Thanks for your help
Joyce
