linux seems to try to access every listed share, which leads to an access denied, what makes the cifs server to close the connection => linux gets an unexpected disconnect => browsing share list fails
with macos the server could be accessed but connection is interrupted when an access denied occurs (e.g. user tries to browse a share w.o. having permission to do so) in all cases accessing shares directly works (\\server\share) but for user convenience browsing \\server should also work as expected ask for further information is welcome thx so far, florian
