Your client is making an IPC connection to the Solaris system and
attempting to use that to authenticate users, which is not allowed.
The cifsdiag output shows that you have some cached idmap mappings,
which is strange given that the box is in workgroup mode.
In workgroup mode, you should not get ephemeral IDs.
IIRC, on our previous exchange you revealed you were using an
Ubuntu client but you provided no further context. Nothing
about your environment, how you are mapping shares, what
programs you are running or what options you are providing to
those programs. In order to troubleshoot this, we would need
more context on how you have things set up and what you are
doing on the client.
It would probably be useful to enable DEBUG logging in syslog.
Add the following line to /etc/syslog.conf and restart the syslog
service.
*.debug /var/adm/messages

Still nothing, I tried from another client and it's the same thing, but I see the
"IPC only" message appear BEFORE I enter the password.. and when I enter the
password, there is no messages (in /var/adm/message).
I ran a CIFS diagnostic, here is: http://kedare.free.fr/Dist/cifsdiag-ebox.txt
Any Idea of what can be the problem ?
Thanks
