You are running in workgroup mode and /etc/pam.conf is missing SMB pam module and so the SMB password file is empty. Obviously SMB server is unable to authenticate your connections as normal users so they'll be authenticated as guest. As you were running fine before upgrade I believe you'd know how to fix this problem.
