This was from another thread - mixed in with libaom 3.8 - so wanted it to not get lost.
Initial test on the x265 snapshot of 17122023 succeeded, but I have a lot more testing to do. For some reason my initial test core-dumped but when I ran it again, it worked so not sure why. (I broke more things today, then I fixed).
