------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2006-01-22 09:10 -------
Apologies for all the posting of gdb debug material. This will be short and
cut-n-paste free.
To summarise conclusions (mine anyway). I think this bug is ready to be
confirmed if someone can repeat it.
The bug relates to rendering from dv files to Mpeg-2 with the Files>Render>File
Format>MPEG Video>Spanner icon>Format Preset>Generic MPEG-2>Derivative>MPEG-2.
The bug does not seem to occur when working with non-dv based files.
Changing the other settings in the video compression dialog sometimes seemed to
fix the bug but the behaviour would revert to broken on subsequent render until
it became permanently broken.
It occured to the same dv file in both the avi and rerendered to dv in a
quicktime container. I also moved the camera a litle to the right to force a
proper re-render of the original dv footage when moving it from avi to the
quicktime container. The bug still occurred.
I created a blank project, rendered it as Quicktime DV, opened up the rendered
project and rendered to MPEG-2. The bug still occurred.
Incidentally - for those following the thread - the render of the blank project
worked okay with the YUV4MPEG pipe/ shell script method discussed above.
The workaround is to use Format-Preset DVD instead of Generic MPEG-2.
Graham
