Both questions have been discussed in the mailing list already..

#1. don't use raw DV. raw DV is broken. (I think a recent patch has been applied to the SVN, but I saw a message saying audio is still broken) #2. This is in the list also, someone wrote a sed script or something I recall... I personally prefer using a YUV4MPEG pipe interface for recording to mpeg, (you then become the controller of the arguments ot mpeg2enc rather than cinelerra)

Cheers,

Pierre

Hi all,
OK, I'm just staring to use cinelerra and loving every minute of it. The UI takes a bit of getting used to, but once I figured out the generate key frames when tweaking idea - things started falling into place.

I'm having two problems, neither of which are show-stoppers because I've got workarounds in place already but I'd like to see if people have any ideas on what's going on....

Glitch #1
I've been capturing video through kino into raw dv - but when attempt to pull any of those clips into cinelerra it crashes without giving me an error message.

however, when I use kino to turn it into a quicktime file, cinelerra loads it just fine. (what's really odd is the cinelerra will load any raw dv file that's rendered from cinelerra, what's up with that?)

Glitch #2
Whenever I try to render mpeg (audio or video) I get a message: "error rendering data" The command line output is:

         "**ERROR: [mpeg2enc.plugin] -q option requires arg 1 .. 32"

Any ideas?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to becoming more proficient with cinelerra - in a couple of months I'll be presenting on it in my LUG

Wes
