I really wish I could get Cinelerra to function on my main box
(Gentoo). I have been able to create a small project and can see the
great potential with Cinelerra's features. But when i attempt to
render, the entire application process dies and the UI vanishes. I
have tried several formats such as QuickTime, Mpeg, AVI, Raw DV. Then,
when I restart cinelerra and choose File | Load Files and select my
project file, the main window hangs with a wait cursor indefinitely.
The only way I can load the project again is if I pass it as a
parameter when starting Cinelerra.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Subject: Loading xml file causes lockup
To: [email protected]

Hello,
I've searched the archives and can't find any reference to this
problem, apologies if I missed it.

On 2 different distros (gentoo & ubuntu) I see a lockup problem if an
xml file/project is already loaded, and I attemp to switch projects by
choosing the xml file from the recently opened items at the bottom of
the File menu. The main window gets the hour-glass and never finishes
loading the project. I have to kill the cinelerra process.

If I use File | Load Files instead of selecting the .xml file from the
Files menu then this does not happen. Is this a known bug?

Thanks.
