Ok I confirmed it in cinelerra/pluginserver.C.  If there is _no_ keyframe, the
"default" keyframe applies to the entire plugin.  If there are keyframes, the
first keyframe applies to everything from the beginning of the plugin until the
second keyframe.  This seems _very_ unintuitive to me, and hardly what users
would want to do - I would think the "default" keyframe should apply up until
the first "real" keyframe.  But, this must have been how it worked so far...

I can submit a patch to change this behavior, but of course it's a significant
behavior change that will affect all plugins, not just this patch/plugin...
