I have added a SVN log section to the website so that people can quickly
see what is implemented since release.
http://cvs.cinelerra.org/svn_log.php
I also have added a re-written version of the message I sent below at:
http://cvs.cinelerra.org/about.php
If anyone has any comments on what I wrote, it would be greatly
appreciated! ( Those who look at PHP code, you could probably implement
it better using the SVN tags or whatever..)
Heroine: I hope that what I wrote doesn't offend, and somewhat clears up
our relationship for everyone...
I recall you saying in a personal email that it would be good to have a
list of patches. Well I thought the SVN log might help. I have a few
patches, (one in particular is "sort by extension" in the file browser)
that I intend to send upstream, but have been having a few difficulties.
Whoever developed the website, I have implemented the pages, index,
svn_log and about as php to use "sidemenu.php" so only one file needs to
be edited to add an items to the menu! Is it O.K. for us all to keep
this going??
Giskard: There seems to be some files that you haven't changed to the
group: cincvs in /home/cinelerra/web/cvs/. I personally added the
following to my .bashrc file so that when I login, it automatically
attempts to change the group of the files appropriatly:
chgrp cincvs /home/cinelerra/web/cvs/* 2> /dev/null > /dev/null
(would be nice to be able to execute a script on log out, does anyone
know how??)
Cheers,
Pierre

Please can someone tell me the main differences between Cinelerra-cvs

answer the question. I couldn't find a way of searching the archive

In addition to Stefan's response I would add: Pierre Dumuid from this
list, some time ago, described it this way:
"This list is primarily focussed on the cinelerra-CV (i.e. the community
version of cinelerra) that is downloaded via svn.
The CV has a number of features that the official version doesn't have.
In terms of stability, unlike other programs, the release that heroine
does, I would not describe as a "Stable" release. (There are often many
new features, with annoyances, and bugs.) Rather, I personally see the
CV as the communities attempt to stabalise the heroine release, and also
to add enhancement in a community fashion, (whist ensuring that we can
merge with heroine's new releases).
Pierre"

Think the main differnce is Cinelerra-cvs works with system libraries and
Cinelerra works in an envirionment where all libs are branched off in
order to keep the development area clean (and stable).
