I am not sure I understand the problem perfectly, but I am using Ubuntu Edgy and as far as I remember, I could compile Cinelerra wihtout needing to install anything else but Ubuntu official stuff.
As far as I remember it went the same for Dapper before. But I also remember that I ran into dependency issues when I wanted to combine things from Marillat's repos. So I had to remove them first and replace with Ubuntu version. Then it all went smoothly. If you ask me I'd say that Ubuntu has all the stuff that Cinelerra needs, but it may not be called the same.
