erm... yes! i tried now again (after thomas' weirdest way)
and yes, same result, although it took some seconds,
so i guess it did some lookup... don't know.

my machine is not-so-fresh, as you say,
but all the cinelerra-related stuff is fresh, maybe that's why?
anyhow i am happy with thomas' weird solution, it works.
