Alas, I've tried all different formats I could produce, and *lots* of variations on apparently supported formats such as uncompressed Quicktime and AVI(*), but so far, all were rejected by RP, without any clue as to what exactly is wrong with 'em. Yet from what I've heard, the Windows version seems to support anything you throw at it without any problems whatsoever, compressed formats and all, provided it can be handled by DirectShow. I find this situation rather stupid: AFAIK, Real tries to offer an independent alternative to Microsoft-controlled video formats such as WMV and so forth - yet their flagship video stream tool seems heavily dependent on Microsoft technology, and the Linux version appears all but useless. *: 'Uncompressed' Quicktime and AVI don't appear to be single, well-defined formats either, but seem to be available in a number of variations. The more I get to know about video editing and video formats, the more I find it a miracle that it works at all ... > Can't RP use mpeg2 as input? Not the Linux version. See http://www.realnetworks.com/products/producer/specifications.html#linux Of course, there's a myriad of combinations of rendering settings I haven't tried. Perhaps someone who knows more about the ins and outs of video formats could offer a few more clever suggestions on what to feed RP? Thanks so far already, regards, Richard Rasker _______________________________________________ Cinelerra mailing list [email protected] https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra
