Some Equipment displays only a subpart of the theoretically possible image. 
Live with it. That doesn't change the math, but you have to be careful that 
you don't put important information (like titles) too far to the borders.

You could do that. But you could also just extend the background into that 
area if you can spare the (mpeg-) bandwidth so that the resulting movie does 
not look cropped on "better" equipment, like computer monitors. ;)
