Yeah, I can understand that attitude.

Note that it's not broken on all kernels.  I have run it successfully a
while ago on an older dv1394 kernel setup.

It's also possible that the stock heroines iec61883 version works, but
the CV version is broken because of additions of AV/C control code.  I
haven't investigated far enough to be sure.

Also, the Cinelerra record dialog supports some interesting features,
like timed recording from a TV capture card.  I've not heard of anyone
testing that, but removing record because it doesn't work for DV will
disable all uses, not just the one or two drivers that seem broken.
