yes cinelerra's video output can go to both raw 1394 and dv 1394. neither of them did work here. however there is one more option, iec 61883. that worked, as you said, through the camera to the monitor.
unfortunately, the framerates achieved were considerably below 25 fps, so the video on the screen looked pretty jittery, like lots of small misplaced squares raining through it... however there is hope that a stronger machine will do better, so far i tried playing on a p4 laptop at home. next week i'll try the amd64 in the office. thanks everybody. have a nice weekend georg On Friday, 8.
