hi

I am trying to capture an interview with Richard Stallman (yay!) from a
miniDV tape on a SUSE 10.2 64 bit box from a professional DSR-45 deck. Here
is the command and the output:

linux-athlon64x2:/home/cje/capturedDV/031 # dvgrab --format raw
dv999_stallman_kipp
raw1394 - failed to get handle: No such file or directory.

I have tried this command both as root and from my user account. Same error
message.

I have tested the tape and the cable and the tape deck by successfully
capturing footage from an Edgy Kubuntu box.

The SUSE 10.2 box has 2 GB of RAM and a dual core processor with an AMD 3800
chip. Horsepower is not the issue here.

I have not pulled the firewire card to see if it is okay. That will be the
next step, as soon as I can get another firewire card. In the meantime, I
am wondering if I missed anything.

By the way, we do have 45 hours of video footage that we are sharing with
the world under a cc by-SA license, if you ever need interview footage with
FOSS leaders. You can see our raw video here:
