I think this is bug 343:
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=343

I'm a n00b to cinelerra and its development, and I had hoped to take a crack at
the bug. So far, I have been unable to compile cinelerra (3) with sufficient
debugging information to determine the problem. I had managed to create some
informational text in cinelerra 2, which I'd like to release to the lead
developers when I get the time.

The bug doesn't look too serious, and I think Cinelerra still works; but of
course, it's not ideal.

Subject: [CinCVS] Error: FileMOV:read_frame(VFrame*):
quicktime_read_frame/quicktime_decode_video failed

Hey everyone!

First time poster. I'm really interested in getting
Cinelerra working on my PC. I'm currently running
Ubuntu Feisty on a 3.0Ghz P4 (with hyperthreading),
1GB of memory, and the NVIDIA 6200 128MB video card.
I've installed the i686 version of Cinelerra (also
tried the P4 version) put out by Jure Cuhalev from the
pre-built packages.

Here's the problem... no matter what video and audio
file I try to load, I keep getting the following
error:

Error: FileMOV:read_frame(VFrame*):
quicktime_read_frame/quicktime_decode_video failed,
result:

It's quite frustrating. I've tried the sample test
footage clips from the site, and I still the same
result.

I've also looked over the manual section: 5. Loading
and saving files and transcoded some of my file with
both ffmpeg and mencoder according to the instructions
in 5.2.5 -- still no go.

I referenced the buy reports with a search of my error
message -- only two items came up that don't really
apply.

What do you guys think is happening or missing?

* FYI, I've got the PC loaded up with all the
libraries needed for multimedia codec support.

Please help. Thanks in advance.
