Could you update the bug with this information? That way if this is
the problem, it's easy to reference for anyone else encountering it.
We can also close the bug if this is the actual issue (Herman and
Nick will need to confirm). Nick may not be on the mailing list
either so may not have seen your response.

In playback preferences select driver : ALSA there is a tab "Stop
playback locks up" click it on. That should do it.
