I wouldn't be surprised if editing audio outside Cinelerra is the best option,
because I'm not sure if Cinelerra has all the features you'd need for adding
sound effects with full ability to reverb over all channels, to make complex
panning envelopes, etc. And Ardour seems like the kind of tool that would make
that possible.
