Dear Friends, I wanted to use 8 Cores Xeon machines on 100Mbps connection, for rendering. What I really want is not the final rendering but for background rendering. I setup the NFS and run cinelerras with -d and setup my master node to use the system. My observations (network&CPU usage) were:
1) Master node is used for background rendering anyways. 2) There is not significant speedup in bg-rendering. 3) CPU on xeon machine are in 10-30% of load. My Question is: Is it possible to use 100Mbps as background renderer (i have 2 such machines)? What could be possible wrong? Maybe i should copy the project files to HDD on rederfarm instead NFS?
