           Summary: graph/curve/parameter tracks
           Product: Cinelerra
           Version: 2.1
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: Medium
         Component: User Interface
        AssignedTo: [email protected]

This is not something I need now but anticipate that a professional tool would
eventually need.

These tracks could be used to view/edit parameters which change over time.
Sort of like the existing curves. Parameters could be things like XY window
positions, plugin settings, etc. For example, the frequency and amplitude for
the synthesizer plugin. Some graph tracks would be full length of timeline,
others might just last the duration of a plugin or other effect. This is
just a generic resource for plugins and a way for user to see things like
changes in projector/camera/mask settings. Becomes more useful as advanced
plugins are developed, such as a wire removal video plugin, that track objects
around the screen. One or more traces could be displayed on the same stripe.
In addition, XY coordinates, masks, etc. could optionally be displayed like a
frame snapshot with markers appropriately positioned. Data can be edited as
curves are edited now on the timeline or by positioning objects on the composer
window. Data from these tracks could be exported to external programs.
Similar to the mask in some ways but can eventually be more sophisticated as
you can have a variety of control points that move (and are interpolated) from
frame to frame. For example, you could have markers on each of a persons
joints to track their motion. Points (with r without text label), lines,
curves, etc.

Look at programs like blender which support animation.

Reproducible: Always
