But, as Herman noted, it does have a few deficiencies. If you spend your time on wipes, then its best invested in improving the ShapeWipe plugin.

 I suspect that even 16 bit grayscale may be a little coarse
in some cases.  Either the shapes should be rendered as OpenEXR
(32 bit float) or as gradients in a vector-based format.

 Any thoughts?  Please consider disk and memory size of the
patterns, calculation times, I/O, the works.
