I have Cinelerra installed, but I don't know what version. Anyway, my
problem is in getting video from my JVC GR D750U camcorder, (a mini DV
type). I am connected by firewire, 1394, and I always used Kino before
to capture the data, but now that I've switched to Hardy, (Ubuntu 8.04),
I get the error message, "Warning: raw1344 kernel modulenot loaded or
failure to read/write /dev/raw1394."
The module appears to be loaded. I've done a modprobe raw1394 with no
difference in my result. The file is in /dev and it has root as a group
with rw- privileges. My userid is part of group root. So I'm at a loss
to see why I still get the error. This used to work fine.
