Hola, candela! :-)

at the end, i opened two instances of cinelerra.
one with an old xml (replace current project) that makes cinelerra freeze and one with the same file (resources only) that doesnt freez cinelerra.
i copied the time line from the first to the second file and i save.

How do you copy the timeline from a frozen Cinelerra? With keyboard
shortcuts?

yes, with shortcuts.
when i open cinelerra it seems that it is ok but when i open a old project all the bottons on the left of the tracks and on the timeline bottom dont work. neither the ones on the compositor botton.

so i create a cinelerra new instance with as many tracks as the old one.
one time i loaded the old file only in the resources of the new file.
and one time i didnt.
it works both ways and the only difference is that you get the clips in the first case. so i armed all the tracks on the old project, delect all, copy and paste in the new. and it works while i dont use the bottons on the bottom in the compositor window.

that was yersterday.

today, before answering this email, i was trying to make both files as much similiar as i could for getting a cleaner view to answer you when i run diff since i dont understand very well cinelerra xmls.

in the old file i had in and out points, so i put them in the new file and, surprise, the freez on the track left bottons and bottom bottons on the compositor came again.
so i delete in and out points in both files and cinelerra works well!!!
also in the compositor window (yesterday one of the bottons that i played was in and out points in this window) i can use all the bottons. i tried in and out points in the view window and they dont influence on cinelerra. in gutsy, cinelerra had not problems to open the files with in and out points, by the way.

i hope this helps people :)
for me it is a big thing because i am in the middle of a project!

any clue about why in and out points make this?
should i write this as a comment in the bugs web?
http://bugs.cinelerra.org/show_bug.cgi?id=493
or maybe someone with a better english ?=?

bufff i am so happy to be able to keep using cinelerra on hardy!! :)
and i learn a lot about installing os and making iso copies and similar things that will help to me in the future for other things!

now i go to learn how to make dvd fom kino or cinelerra, thanks for your tutorials on that!
