I have completely switched from Fedora (last used was Fedora 9 x86_64) to Ubuntu (8.10 x86_64) and couldn't be happier. I used to compile everything myself in order to get everything working and now I just use Akirad's repository. Saves me several hours of headache every 6 months. Thanks!!
As it turns out I was just now putting together a very minimal Ubuntu + Cinelerra on a USB stick that I can send to someone to try out :) Fun!
