Actualy there is no much difference in distro if you grow cinelerra from source code. In this case you always have latest version without any dependence problems. I'm using latest cinelerra-cv on gentoo 64bit box and tracking updates almost every day. Cinelerra runs very smooth. Almost no problems. It just works many days without restarting. In archlinux I'm using cinelerra-cv from arch's repository. Works but not so stable. Maybe because of my arch box is 32bit. OpenSUSE has packaged cinelerra in community repository. So if you would like to get cinelerra without opening terminal I would like to suggest to try OpenSUSE.
