[CinCV] Meaning of "armed" and other questions

"Armed" allows changes to a track, yes?
One track must always be armed?
If no track is armed, then no edits etc will be saved, even to the xml file?
ie Changes are only written to the xml file for armed tracks.
No actual changes are made to loaded files, ever?  Only the rendered output
file gets the changes, right?
