I was talking about my experience with dv/minidv camcorders. I find SD (Secure Digital) support more convenient to transfer videos on computers. However, although DV format have disadvantages, it is still the best choice for SD (Small Definition) videos because it is a less compressed format. Videos recorded on Sd cards are compressed and have drawbacks like artifacts on fast moving scenes.

so ... The choice is not so easy.

You should restrict your needs (what budget?, where can you buy?, what sort of quality you expect?, what is the destination of your videos? do you really want to go HD?, which HD?).

Well, consider all pros and cons before you fix a choice.
