Mikko, Though I have not tested this particular Cinelerra version, HeroineWarrior has precompiled binaries for Cinelerra 4 on Fedora 11 here: http://heroinewarrior.com/cinelerra.php#download
My most recent install is Fedora 10, x86-64. From Fedora 9 and on, use the RPM Fusion repository exclusively. Other repos like ATRpms have nasty incompatiblities and you will get weird system and Cinelerra errors if you use them. Here are some notes I've made, plus an install script for Cinelerra on Fedora 10, x86-64: http://crazedmuleproductions.blogspot.com/2009/02/fedora-10-x86-64-cinelerra-build.html scott ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mikko Huhtala" <[email protected]> To: "cinelerra" <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, December 11, 2009 2:55:14 PM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: [CinCV] Fedora installation instructions The installation instructions for Fedora in the Wiki and on the web page seem to be out of date. The latest distro version mentioned is F9, whose end-of-life date passed in June. Freshrpms has been merged into RPM Fusion, which does not carry Cinelerra for the current Fedora versions. There are packages in the ATrpms repo, but at least for F12, rendering seems to be very broken (neither YUV4MPEG streams nor direct MPEG rendering work). ATrpms conflicts extensively with RPM Fusion, which is a problem, because most users who deal with multimedia are likely going to need RPM Fusion at some point. It looks tome like the users of current Fedora versions (12 and 11) are pretty much out of luck as far as precompiled, working RPMs go. Or am I missing something? (I tried to edit the Wiki, but I seem to be unable to log in and unable to get a password reminder.)
