No problem with 10.04 I think. I was on a laptop with 1,3 Ghz with 2
go ram 32 bits that worked quite enough to edit with an nvidia carte
64 Mo. Now I'm on intel core 2 duo 1,9 ghz with 8 go de ram 64 bits
and it works very well with a card with 128 Mo.

Thanks all
This means my laptop can do the job? (acer travelmate 5320 celeron
530 1,7 GHz) Just need to buy extra memory and then upgrade to
10.04.
In that case I will wait a little while before bying a desktop
with two screens.

Go for two screens with reasonable high resolution, e.g. 2 x
1920x1200.
You will need the desktop space. Does not need to be
expensive.
I have good experience with NVIDIA graphics cards in
"twinview" setting.
