Randolph,

I don't understand why it is technically complaining, but from experience I know that CInelerra works best with
1. quicktime
2. the exact dimensions of the project's configuration (eg 720x576 or 1280x720 etc.)
3. a non-transport stream codec

And there are plenty of exceptions to points 1 and 3 the above (never found an exception to point 2 though).

Suggest you convert the source video into an acceptable intermediate codec. For example I use FFMPEG and covert my m2t 720p HD to quicktime DNxHD, then cinelerra laps it up. I often import my m2t directly for quick and dirty edits. Check out Grandma's advice : http://www.g-raffa.eu/Cinelerra/HOWTO/ for lots of hints and tips on acceptable codecs. I too have received that error on many occasions. Cinelerra is not perfect. Whereas you can drop just about anything onto a Kdenlive timeline, not so with Cinelerra.

If you respond, please advise exactly the technical details of your source video (dimensions, container, codec, audio etc.).

cheers
    David

Hello,

I would like to know if a solution has been found on the error:

virtual int FileMOV::read_frame(VFrame*): quicktime_read_frame/quicktime_decode_video failed, result:

I get error message over and over again when loading and playing .mov and .avi files. I also saw others getting the same problem:

I'm using CV 2.2 in OpenSUSE 11.4 and 12.1 x86_64 bit and I'm experiencing the same error in both. When I used CV 2.1 in OSS 11.3 i686 32 bit, I experienced no such error. Please tell me what is wrong and how to correct it. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Randolph
