I just had to add a set of fonts tonight.
Used the ttmkfdir utility, but had to find it on the web first!
That is the easiest and hopefully safest way to add fonts.

Ciao Raffaella.

I deleted the new unusable one but when opened read simply '0' (example
attached). I am attaching my current 'fonts.dir' which, to add estre
(estre.ttf already in the fonts file) was copy the entry for georgia,
change the names and then paste in the correct alphabetical sequence.
Opened cinelerra 'et voila'.

Don't worry, I knew nothing about font files before this morning. Still
don't know much.

Good luck and let me know how you do. Oliver

Ciao Oliver!

Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately I have no backup and I do not know fonts enought to edit
the fonts.dir file manually.

I'm dying of curiosity of comparing your working fonts.dir and your
unusable one. Would you be happy to send them both?

Ciao!
Raffaella
