We just (earlier this week) turned our FCP live instead of just watch mode. Thus far it seems to be working well. We haven't had any upstreams do anything naughty yet so I can't speak to that, but it is doing a fine job of tuning prefixes for the best path (least packet-loss, lowest latency) as well as manipulating flows to optimize upstream usage for cost savings. We're pleased so far, but it's only been a few days. :-) I'm sure others with more long-term experience will chime in as well.
