Yes, works here. One caveat not stated my any others: if you specify either the speed or duplex setting MDI-X is lost. We had to buy some cross-over cables for some older gear that requires 10/full because that auto-sensing capability was gone.

Hi, Does anybody know if the WS-X6748-GE-TX does MDI-X autosensing when running native IOS on Sup720? I can't seem to find anything decisive about the WS-X6748-GE-TX and IOS, but I can find references to CatOS/WS-X6748-GE-TX and MDIX and to the WS-X6548-RJ-45. Catalyst 6500 Series Switch Module Guide "The WS-X6548-RJ-45 module is auto-MDI/MDIX capable;" http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps708/products_module_config uration_guide_chapter09186a0080394e16.html#wp1050569 http://tinyurl.com/4n52cz Catalyst 6500 Series Command Reference, 8.6 "With software release 8.2(1), auto-MDIX is also enabled on the following modules: .WS-X6748-GE-TX, Supervisor Engine 720 port 2 (RJ-45)" http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst6500/catos/8.x/command/ reference/set_m_pi.html#wp1045648 http://tinyurl.com/3m52lb The first page has info on the WS-X6748-GE-TX, but doesn't mention MDI-X near the module information. I don't have any spare WS-X6748-GE-TX right now, so I can't test it other than in production. (Which I will have to do if nobody knows... :-) Thanks, Peter _______________________________________________ cisco-nsp mailing list [email protected] https://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/cisco-nsp archive at http://puck.nether.net/pipermail/cisco-nsp/ _______________________________________________ cisco-nsp mailing list [email protected] https://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/cisco-nsp archive at http://puck.nether.net/pipermail/cisco-nsp/
